BF4M Series Active Optical Connector Apr. 2021 BF4M Series/Active Optical Connector Overview Hirose developed the microBF4MC connecto that enables optical transmission of data between boards that are incorporated in devices. It converts an electrical signal that is received from a board by using the semiconductor component built in the connector and then transfers the data via optical fiber. The BF4MC connector has a revolutionary design that enables easy use of the benefits of optical transmission, including electromagnetic noise-free, insulated, long-distance, high speed transmission. Mounting inside devices achieves dramatic space saving and lower power consumption when compared to existing optical products.
