It also describes how to quickly get started with this kit and take advantage of Infineons CoolMOS PFD7 superjunction (SJ) MOSFETs, 2ED gate-driver IC and TM microcontroller iMOTION IMC100 series. Scope and purpose EVAL DRIVE 3PH PFD7 is a three-phase motor drive evaluation board with sensorless Field Oriented Control (FOC), which demonstrates Infineons latest SJ technology tuned specially for motor drives by introducing a complete system-level solution using discrete inverters to control and drive three-phase motors. The evaluation board EVAL DRIVE 3PH PFD7 was developed to support customers in the first steps of designing a three-phase inverter stage for the target applications. The Infineon components used in the motor drive evaluation board are: IPN60R1K5PFD7S 600 V CoolMOS PFD7 MOSFET 2ED28073J06F 600 V half-bridge gate-driver IC (EiceDRIVER) IMC101T-T038 iMOTION microcontroller BAT54-03W silicon Schottky diode IFX1117ME V33 3.3 V low drop-out voltage regulator Intended audience This application note is intended for all technical specialists who aim to reduce system cost and improve light- load efficiency, which in turn will enable longer run-time and reduce time-to-market.
