CAP1126 6 Channel Capacitive Touch Sensor with 2 LED Drivers Datasheet PRODUCT FEATURES General Description Applications 1 The CAP1126, which incorporates SMSCs RightTouch Desktop and Notebook PCs technology, is a multiple channel Capacitive Touch sensor LCD Monitors with multiple power LED drivers. It contains six (6) Consumer Electronics individual capacitive touch sensor inputs with Appliances programmable sensitivity for use in touch sensor applications. Each sensor input automatically recalibrates Features to compensate for gradual environmental changes. Six (6) Capacitive Touch Sensor Inputs Programmable sensitivity The CAP1126 also contains two (2) LED drivers that offer Automatic recalibration full-on / off, variable rate blinking, dimness controls, and Individual thresholds for each button breathing. Each of the LED drivers may be linked to one of the sensor inputs to be actuated when a touch is detected. Proximity Detection As well, each LED driver may be individually controlled via Multiple Button Pattern Detection a host controller. Calibrates for Parasitic Capacitance The CAP1126 includes Multiple Pattern Touch recognition Analog Filtering for System Noise Sources that allows the user to select a specific set of buttons to be Press and Hold feature for Volume-like Applications touched simultaneously. If this pattern is detected, then a Multiple Communication Interfaces 2 status bit is set and an interrupt generated. SMBus / I C compliant interface SMSC BC-Link interface Additionally, the CAP1126 includes circuitry and support for SPI communications enhanced sensor proximity detection. Pin selectable communications protocol and multiple The CAP1126 offers multiple power states operating at low 2 slave addresses (SMBus / I C only) quiescent currents. In the Standby state of operation, one Low Power Operation or more capacitive touch sensor inputs are active and all 5uA quiescent current in Deep Sleep LEDs may be used. If a touch is detected, it will wake the 50uA quiescent current in Standby (1 sensor input system using the WAKE/SPI MOSI pin. monitored) Deep Sleep is the lowest power state available, drawing Samples one or more channels in Standby 5uA (typical) of current. In this state, no sensor inputs are Two (2) LED Driver Outputs active. Driving the WAKE/SPI MOSI pin or communications Open Drain or Push-Pull will wake the device. Programmable blink, breathe, and dimness controls Can be linked to Capacitive Touch Sensor inputs Dedicated Wake output flags touches in low power state System RESET pin 1.
