MP4700 High-Brightness, BCM, Low Side Buck White LED Driver The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP4700 is a high-efficiency step-down 8V-to-18V Input Voltage converter designed to drive high-brightness Constant-Current LED Driver light emitting diodes. Power MOSFET Zero-Current Turn-On No Freewheeling Diode Reverse Recovery The MP4700 drives an external MOSFET in Issues boundary conduction mode, which features no High Efficiency and Reliability in Boundary reverse recovery loss in the freewheeling diode Conduction Mode and soft turn-on with zero-current and valley Low 1mA Operation Current voltage for the power MOSFET that improves PWM Dimming Control efficiency and minimizes the inductor value and size. The boundary conduction control mode Hiccup Short Circuit Protection regulates the LED current by sensing the UVLO for Bus Input Voltage MOSFET peak current through an external Input UVLO, Thermal Shutdown resistor. Its low 300mV feedback voltage Maximum Frequency Limited to 160kHz reduces power loss and improves efficiency. Available in SOIC8 Package The MP4700 implements PWM dimming to the APPLICATIONS LED current. LED Backlighting for TV and Monitor Protection features include output short DC/DC or AC/DC LED Driver applications protection, under-voltage lockout for the IC General Illumination input voltage and bus input voltage, a limited Industrial Lighting maximum switching frequency, and thermal Automotive/ Decorative LED Lighting shut down.
