FAN2360 6 A Synchronous Buck Regulator June 2015 FAN2360 10 A Synchronous Buck Regulator Features Description The FAN2360 is a highly efficient synchronous buck V Range: 4.5 V to 24 V IN regulator. The regulator is capable of operating with an High Efficiency: Over 96% Peak input range from 4.5 V to 24 V and supporting up to 10 A continuous load currents. Continuous Output Current: 10 A The FAN2360 utilizes Fairchilds constant on-time MOSFETs R (Typical): HS: 12.2 m, DS,ON control architecture to provide excellent transient LS: 2.88 m response and to maintain a relatively constant switching PFM Mode for Light-Load Efficiency frequency. This device utilizes Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) mode to maximize light-load Excellent Line and Load Transient Response efficiency by reducing switching frequency when the Precision Reference: 1% Over Temperature inductor is operating in discontinuous conduction mode at light loads, while clamping the minimum frequency Output Voltage Range: 0.6 to 5.5 V above the audible range with ultrasonic mode. Programmable Frequency: 200 kHz to 1.5 MHz Switching frequency and over-current protection can Programmable Soft-Start be programmed to provide a flexible solution for various applications. Output over-voltage, under- Low Shutdown Current voltage, over-current, and thermal shutdown protections Adjustable Sourcing Current Limit help prevent damage to the device during fault conditions. After thermal shutdown is activated, a Internal Boot Diode hysteresis feature restarts the device when normal Thermal Shutdown operating temperature is reached.
