Is Now Part of To learn more about ON Semiconductor, please visit our website at www.onsemi.com Please note: As part of the Fairchild Semiconductor integration, some of the Fairchild orderable part numbers will need to change in order to meet ON Semiconductors system requirements. Since the ON Semiconductor product management systems do not have the ability to manage part nomenclature that utilizes an underscore ( ), the underscore ( ) in the Fairchild part numbers will be changed to a dash (-). This document may contain device numbers with an underscore ( ). Please check the ON Semiconductor website to verify the updated device numbers. The most current and up-to-date ordering information can be found at www.onsemi.com. Please email any questions regarding the system integration to Fairchild questions onsemi.com. Cycle-by-Cycle Current Limiting The FL6300A is applied on quasi-resonant flyback Peak-Current-Mode Control converters, where maximum operating frequency is Leading-Edge Blanking (LEB) limited to below 100 kHz. A built-in HV startup circuit can provide more startup current to reduce the startup Internal Minimum t OFF time of the controller. Once the V voltage exceeds the DD Internal 5 ms Soft-Start turn-on threshold voltage, the HV startup function is disabled to reduce power consumption. An internal Over-Power Compensation valley voltage detector ensures that the power system operates at quasi-resonant operation over a wide-range GATE Output Maximum Voltage of line voltage and load conditions, as well as reducing Auto-Recovery Over-Current Protection (FB Pin) switching loss to minimize switching voltage on the drain of the power MOSFET. Auto-Recovery Open-Loop Protection (FB Pin) To minimize standby power consumption and improve Latch Protection V Pin and Output Voltage (DET DD Pin) OVP light-load efficiency, a proprietary Green-Mode function provides off-time modulation to decrease switching Frequency Operation Below 100 kHz frequency and perform extended valley voltage switching to keep to a minimum switching pulse. The Applications operating frequency is limited by minimum t time, OFF which is 38 s to 8 s. General LED Lighting FL6300A also provides many protection functions. Industrial, Commercial, and Residential Fixtures Pulse-by-pulse current limiting ensures the fixed-peak current-limit level, even when a short circuit occurs. Outdoor Lighting: Street, Roadway, Parking, Once an open-circuit failure occurs in the feedback loop, Construction, and Ornamental LED Lighting Fixtures the internal protection circuit disables PWM output immediately. When V drops below the turn-off DD threshold voltage, the controller disables PWM output. The gate output is clamped at 18 V to protect the power MOSFET from high gate-source voltage conditions. The minimum t time limit prevents the system frequency OFF from being too high. When over-voltage protection (OVP) is triggered by DET or when internal over- temperature protection (OTP) is triggered, the power system enters Latch Mode until AC power is removed.
