The MC74HC4538ADG is a dual precision monostable multi-vibrator 3-6V manufactured by ON Semiconductor. It is a dual-precision monostable multivibrator with a width adjustable from one to 1,000 microseconds. Two independent circuits are provided on the same chip with each consisting of an inverting Schmitt trigger and an uninverting Schmitt trigger. The device can also be used as a one-shot with a variable pulse width up to 1,000 µs. It can operate from a +3 to +6 V supply voltage range and is fully specified for temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C. It is a 14-lead small-outline IC (SOIC) package with a power dissipation of 220 mW. The device is suitable for use in variety of applications such as clock/frequency dividers, pulse generation, missing pulse detection, pulse width modulation, digital logic timing, time-delay processing, pulse shaping, triggering, and waveform generation.
