Calibration should be performed to ensure that the tester is operating within limits. The calibration may be checked with discrete resistors. Resistance Value (+/- 10%) Test Display 675 KOhms Red (Low-hazard) 825 KOhms Green (OK-in limits) 8.5 MOhms Green (OK-in limits) 11.5 MOhms Red (High resistance) To calibrate, simply place each resistance value (see table) between the touch plate and banana grounds. Observe that the proper test display LED is on (see table) for the selected resistor. Be sure to hold the test cord at an insulated point, so the resistance value is not affected by the body.
