ISL1220 2 I C Real Time Clock/Calendar with Frequency Output Data Sheet June 22, 2006 FN6315.0 Low Power RTC with 8 Bytes of Battery Features Backed SRAM and Separate F Real Time Clock/Calendar OUT - Tracks Time in Hours, Minutes, and Seconds The ISL1220 device is a low power real time clock with timing and crystal compensation, clock/calendar, power fail - Day of the Week, Day, Month, and Year indicator, periodic or polled alarm, intelligent battery backup Frequency Output pin switching, battery-backed user SRAM and separate F OUT - 15 Selectable Output Frequencies and IRQ outputs. Single Alarm with Separate Interrupt pin The oscillator uses an external, low-cost 32.768kHz crystal. The real time clock tracks time with separate registers for - Settable to the Second, Minute, Hour, Day of the Week, hours, minutes, and seconds. The device has calendar Day, or Month registers for date, month, year and day of the week. The - Single Event or Pulse Interrupt Mode calendar is accurate through 2099, with automatic leap year Automatic Backup to Battery or Super Cap correction. X1 can also be driven directly from a 32.768kHz source. 2 X2 The X2 pin is the output of an inverting amplifier and is intended to be connected to one pin of an external 32.768kHz quartz crystal. 3V This input provides a backup supply voltage to the device. V supplies power to the device in the event that the BAT BAT V supply fails. This pin should be tied to ground if not used. DD 4 GND Ground. 5 NC No Connection 6F Frequency Output (F ). Open drain output, Programmable to be active/disabled in battery back up mode. OUT OUT 7 SDA Serial Data (SDA) is a bidirectional pin used to transfer serial data into and out of the device. It has an open drain output and may be wire ORed with other open drain or open collector outputs. 8 SCL The Serial Clock (SCL) input is used to clock all serial data into and out of the device. 9IRQ Interrupt Output. Open drain output, active low. 10 V Power supply. DD FN6315.0 2 June 22, 2006
