ISL23710 Volatile Digitally Controlled Potentiometer (XDCP) Data Sheet August 22, 2005 FN6126.0 Terminal Voltage 3V or 5V, 128 Taps Features Up/Down Interface Up/Down Interface with Chip Select Enable The Intersil ISL23710 is a digitally controlled potentiometer DCP Terminal Voltage from 2.7V to 5V (XDCP). The device consists of a resistor array, wiper 127 Resistive Elements switches, and a control section. The wiper position is controlled by a Up/Down interface. - Typical R tempco 50ppm/C TOTAL - Ratiometric tempco 4ppm/C The potentiometer is implemented by a resistor array - End to end resistance range 20% composed of 127 resistive elements and a wiper switching - Wiper resistance = 70 typ at V = 3.3V CC network. Between each element and at either end are tap points accessible to the wiper terminal. The position of the Low Power CMOS wiper element is controlled by the CS, U/D, and INC inputs. - V- = -2.7V to -5.5V The wiper register is volatile and is reset to midscale on -V = 2.7V to 5.5V CC power up. The wiper position can be locked while powered - Active current, 1mA max up to prevent inadvertent changes. - Standby current, 500nA max The device can be used as a three-terminal potentiometer or Values = 10k, 50k R TOTAL as a two-terminal variable resistor in a wide variety of Volatile Wiper Storage with Wiper Locking applications including: Packages Industrial and Automotive Control -10 Ld MSOP Parameter and Bias Adjustments Pb-Free Plus Anneal Available (RoHS Compliant) Amplifier Bias and Control Pinout Ordering Information ISL23710 (10 LD MSOP) TEMP TOP VIEW PART NUMBER RESISTANCE RANGE PKG. Add -T suffix for tape and reel. 2. Intersil Pb-free plus anneal products employ special Pb-free material sets molding compounds/die attach materials and 100% matte tin plate termination finish, which are RoHS compliant and compatible with both SnPb and Pb-free soldering operations. Intersil Pb-free products are MSL classified at Pb-free peak reflow temperatures that meet or exceed the Pb-free requirements of IPC/JEDEC J STD-020. CAUTION: These devices are sensitive to electrostatic discharge follow proper IC Handling Procedures. 1 1-888-INTERSIL or 1-888-468-3774 Intersil (and design) is a registered trademark of Intersil Americas Inc.
