Multiphase buck converter architecture - 0.5% System Accuracy Over Life, Load, Line and uses interleaved timing to multiply channel ripple frequency Temperature and reduce input and output ripple currents. Lower ripple - Adjustable Precision Reference-Voltage Offset results in fewer components, lower component cost, reduced Precision Resistor or DCR Current Sensing power dissipation, and smaller implementation area. - Accurate Load-Line Programming, Channel-Current Microprocessor loads can generate load transients with Balancing, Differential Current Sense extremely fast edge rates. The ISL6327A utilizes Intersils Microprocessor Voltage Identification Input proprietary Active Pulse Positioning (APP) and Adaptive - Dynamic VID Technology Phase Alignment (APA) modulation scheme to achieve the - 8-Bit VID Input with Selectable VR11 code and extremely fast transient response with fewer output Extended VR10 Code at 6.25mV Per Bit capacitors. - 0.5V to 1.600V Operation Range Todays microprocessors require a tightly regulated output Monotonic Output Voltage Soft-start voltage position versus load current (droop). The ISL6327A senses the output current continuously by utilizing patented Thermal Monitoring techniques to measure the voltage across the dedicated Integrated Programmable Temperature Compensation current sense resistor or the DCR of the output inductor. Overcurrent Protection and Channel Current Limit Current sensing provides the needed signals for precision droop, channel-current balancing, and overcurrent Overvoltage Protection with OVP Output Indication protection. A programmable integrated temperature 2-, 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-Phase Operation compensation function is implemented to effectively compensate the temperature variation of the current sense Adjustable Switching Frequency up to 1MHz Per Phase element.
