DATASHEET ISL6440 FN9040 Rev 2.00 300kHz Dual, 180 Out-of-Phase, Step-Down PWM Controller Oct 4, 2005 The ISL6440 is a high-performance, dual-output PWM Features controller optimized for converting wall adapter, battery or Wide Input Supply Voltage Range network intermediate bus DC input supplies into the system - 5.6V to 24V supply voltages required for a wide variety of applications. - 4.5V to 5.6V Each output is adjustable down to 0.8V. An Out of Phase PWM Controller Operation adjustable overcurrent protection circuit monitors the output - Reduces Required Input Capacitance and Power current by sensing the voltage drop across the lower Supply Induced Loads MOSFET. Hiccup mode overcurrent operation protects the DC/DC components from damage during output No External Current Sense Resistor overload/short circuit conditions. Each PWM has an - Uses Lower MOSFETs r DS(ON) independent logic-level shutdown input (SD1 and SD2). Programmable Soft-Start A single PGOOD signal is issued when soft-start is complete Extensive Circuit Protection Functions on both PWM controllers and their outputs are within 10% of - PGOOD the set point.
