Historically, it was populated by various ethnic groups such as Poles, Germans, Jews, Romanians and Ukrainians. The northern part of Roztocze is also known for its numerous caves and natural springs.
2. The Southern part of Roztocze covers the region between Lublin, Opole and Sanok and features gently rolling hills, plateaus and river valleys. It is home to a unique mix of different cultures and traditions, including a significant Jewish population. It is also an important tourist region, with famous attractions such as the Renaissance castle of Olesky and Haczow, a large open-air museum. Other attractions include the sandstone canyon of Cisna, the ruins of old churches, and the landscape of the village of Kondraty.
