The B512-2T is part of Sensata's family of non-power airborne magnetic proximity sensors. These sensors are designed to be used on aircraft as part of safety and control systems. Launched in 2020, they provide increased temperature range, avionics-grade reliability, and robustness.
These sensors can detect the position of aircraft’s control surfaces, such as flaps, ailerons, and elevators, and send the information to the aircraft’s on-board computers. They can also feed data from the pilot’s control stick back to the aircraft’s computer system, as well as information from hydraulic and fuel systems.
The B512-2T is a two-position sensor and is specifically designed for use in harsh environments, being particularly resistant to vibration, shock, wide temperature ranges, and EMI (electromagnetic interference). It features a flexible design which allows it to mount directly onto the control surface, and is available in either a plug-in or hard-wired design.
