The L6561 is a high-efficiency, active power factor correction IC made by STMicroelectronics. This IC is designed to work with both AC and DC inputs, providing up to 99% power factor correction across a wide range of input voltages, from 8V to 440V, allowing it to be used in a variety of power systems. The IC also features auto restart, support for wall dimmers, and wide temperature range. The L6561 further integrates a high frequency resonant half bridge, a frequency jittering system to reduce EMI, a temperature sensor, and open loop detection. It also features robust protection features, including over temperature and UVLO protection, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and thermal shutdown.
