ESTABLISHED RELIABILITY SERIES CENTIGRID 114 ESTABLISHED RELIABILITY RELAYS DPDT SERIES RELAY TYPE DESIGNATION 114 DPDT basic relay 114D DPDT relay with internal diode for coil transient suppression DPDT relay with internal diodes for coil transient suppression and polarity 114DD reversal protection INTERNAL CONSTRUCTION DESCRIPTION The Series 114 Centigrid relay is an ultraminiature, hermetically sealed, armature relay. Its low profile height (.275 ) and .100 grid spaced terminals, UNI-FRAME which precludes the need for spreader pads, make it ideal for applications UPPER STATIONARY where extreme packaging density and/or close PC board spacing are required. CONTACT The basic design and internal construction are similar to the standard ARMATURE Teledyne DPDT TO-5 relay (e.g., Series 412). The following unique construction features and manufacturing techniques provide overall high reliability and excellent resistance to environmental extremes: LOWER All welded construction. STATIONARY CONTACT Unique uni-frame design providing high magnetic efficiency and mechanical MOVING CONTACT rigidity. High force/mass ratios for resistance to shock and vibration. Advanced cleaning techniques provide maximum assurance of internal cleanliness. Precious metal alloy contact material with gold plating assures excellent high current and dry circuit switching capabilities. ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS The Series 114D and 114DD relays have internal discrete silicon diodes for Temperature coil suppression and polarity reversal protection. 65C to +125C (Ambient) By virtue of its inherently low intercontact capacitance and contact circuit Vibration 30 gs to 3000 Hz (General Note 1) losses, the 114 relay has proven to be an excellent ultraminiature RF switch for frequency ranges well into the UHF spectrum. A typical RF application for Shock 75 gs, (General Note 1) 6 msec, half-sine the 114 relay is in handheld radio transceivers, wherein the combined features of good RF performance, small size, low coil power dissipation and high Acceleration 50 gs reliability make it a preferred method of Transmit-Receive Enclosure Hermetically sealed switching (see Figure 1).
