The CD74ACT04M96 is a four-input, multiplexer (MUX) offered by Texas Instruments (TI). It is made with complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology, which makes the device ideal for low-power devices. The device has four independent 1-bit data input channels labeled A, B, C, and D. It also has a single 1-bit enable pin, EN. Through the use of the enable pin, user can configure the MUX in either a 2-input (A, B) or 4-input (A, B, C, D) mode. Data is selected by the data inputs, A and B (2-input mode) or A, B, C and D (4-input mode). The output is provided on the single 1-bit output pin, O. The output data is setup and hold guaranteed by specified parameters. The CD74ACT04M96 also has a power-on reset circuitry incorporated that initializes the output to a known valid state. It is a low power CMOS device, operating from a supply voltage range of 2.0 V to 6.0 V and with a LOW-power standby mode. The device is available in the 8-pin PDIP, 8-pin SOIC and 8-pin TSSOP packages.
