The DS1302ZM/TR with SOP-8 Real-time Clock (RTC) ROHS from HGSEMI is an inexpensive device that keeps track of the date and time even when the main system is not powered. Pressure-sensitive contacts on the back side offer connection to external components, such as a coin cell battery, crystal, and other electronic circuitry. The SOP-8 package integrates the integrated circuit, resistors, capacitors, crystal, and other discreet parts into a single board. This eliminates the need for individual components and saves valuable surface-mounted real estate on Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). The DS1302ZM/TR Real-time Clock is RoHS compliant and features 0.4mA current consumption and I2C and SPI bus interfaces. This device is ideal for tracking date and time in battery-based applications such as mobile equipment, office machines, and industrial control systems.
