M48Z58, M48Z58Y 5 V, 64 Kbit (8 Kbit x 8) ZEROPOWER SRAM Datasheet - production data Pin and function compatible with JEDEC standard 32 Kbit x 8 SRAMs RoHS compliant Lead-free second level interconnect 28 1 Description PDIP 28.7 The M48Z58/Y ZEROPOWER RAM is an 8 Kbit Battery CAPHAT x 8 non-volatile static RAM that integrates power- fail deselect circuitry and battery control logic on a single die. The monolithic chip is available in two special packages to provide a highly integrated battery-backed memory solution. The M48Z58/Y is a non-volatile pin and function SNAPHAT battery equivalent to any JEDEC standard 8 K x 8 SRAM. It also easily fits into many ROM, EPROM, and EEPROM sockets, providing the non-volatility of 28 PROMs without any requirement for special 1 WRITE timing or limitations on the number of WRITEs that can be performed. SOH28 The 28-pin, 600 mil DIP CAPHAT houses the M48Z58/Y silicon with a long life lithium button Features cell in a single package. The 28-pin, 330 mil SOIC provides sockets with Integrated, ultra low power SRAM, power-fail gold plated contacts at both ends for direct control circuit, and battery connection to a separate SNAPHAT housing READ cycle time equals WRITE cycle time containing the battery. The unique design allows Automatic power-fail chip deselect and WRITE the SNAPHAT battery package to be mounted on protection top of the SOIC package after the completion of the surface mount process. Insertion of the WRITE protect voltages: SNAPHAT housing after reflow prevents potential (V = power-fail deselect voltage) PFD battery damage due to the high temperatures M48Z35: V = 4.75 to 5.5 V CC required for device surface-mounting. 4.5 V V 4.75 V PFD The SNAPHAT housing is keyed to prevent M48Z35Y: 4.5 to 5.5 V reverse insertion. 4.2 V V 4.5 V PFD The SOIC and battery packages are shipped Self-contained battery in the CAPHAT DIP separately in plastic anti-static tubes or in tape & package reel form. Packaging includes a 28-lead SOIC and SNAPHAT top (to be ordered separately) For the 28-lead SOIC, the battery package (e.g., SNAPHAT) part number is M4Z28-BR00SH1.
