AOD450 is a portion of Alpha & Omega, a scalable software architecture developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The AOD450 module specifically focuses on controlling the operation of distributed energy resources (DERs) within a microgrid, including various pieces of equipment such as solar PV, battery storage, and others. The AOD450 module stores and updates the optimal operation plan for DERs in real-time, sends signals for demand response events, performs fault detection and classification, and runs analytics to identify peak demand and periods of high utilization. Additionally, AOD450 has a powerful user interface to assist users in configuring, managing, and optimizing DERs within a microgrid.
