The BC557B is a general-purpose low-power bipolar NPN transistor manufactured by Diotec. This transistor is mainly used in low current, low voltage applications such as driving relays and LEDs, or as an amplifier or switching device in audio circuits. It has a wide ß range, a low collector-emitter saturation voltage, and can handle a collector current up to 100mA. The BC557B is available in two different packages, the TO-92 and the SOT-22. The maximum continuous collector-emitter voltage is rated at 45V and the maximum power dissipation is 400mW.
