The BC557B is a PNP silicon bipolar transistor manufactured by Continental Device India Limited (CDIL). It has a nominal current gain of 500 and can handle maximum collector current of 100mA. This transistor features low noise and medium speed operation, which makes it ideal for use in driver stages, medium power switching and low power audio amplifiers. It is designed to work with a maximum collector-emitter voltage of 45V, and a maximum emitter-base voltage of 5V.
