The NTE5405 is a thyristor designed to control higher power circuits. It has a peak inverting power of 400V, a continuous forward current of 0.8A, a gate triggering current of 0.2mA, and is a through-hole (THT) TO92 packaged device manufactured by NTE. The thyristor is a four-layer, three-terminal semiconductor device, consisting of an anode, a gate, and a cathode. It has both an S-type and a reverse-blocking state. When a positive gate current is applied, it switches from its off-state (in the blocking direction) to its on-state (in the conducting direction). It is commonly used for AC power control and low frequency switch mode power supplies.
