PCA9654E, PCA9654EA 2 8-bit I/O Expander for I C Bus and SMBus with Interrupt The PCA9654E/PCA9654EA provides 8 bits of General Purpose 2 parallel Input/Output (GPIO) expansion for I Cbus/SMBus www.onsemi.com applications. The PCA9654E/PCA9654EA consists of 8bit Configuration MARKING (Input or Output selection), Input, Output and Polarity Inversion DIAGRAMS (active HIGH or active LOW operation) registers. The system master 16 1 may set the I/Os as either inputs or outputs by writing to the I/O PCA9654EG configuration bits. The data for each Input or Output is kept in the SOIC16 AWLYWW D SUFFIX corresponding Input or Output register. The polarity of the read CASE 751B register can be inverted with the Polarity Inversion register. All 1 registers can be read by the system master. The PCA9654E/PCA9654EA opendrain interrupt (INT) output is 16 activated when any input state differs from its corresponding input PCA9 port register state and is used to indicate to the system master that an 1 654E input state has changed. The poweron reset sets the registers to their ALYW TSSOP16 default values and initializes the device state machine. DT SUFFIX 2 1 CASE 948F Three hardware pins (AD0, AD1, AD2) vary the fixed I C bus 2 address and allow up to 64 devices to share the same I Cbus/SMBus. 16 The PCA9654EA has a different address map from the PCA9654E. 1 Features XXM 1 V Operating Range: 1.65 V to 5.5 V DD WQFN16 SDA Sink Capability: 30 mA MT SUFFIX CASE 488AP 5.5 V Tolerant I/Os Polarity Inversion Register 16 Active LOW Interrupt Output 1 XXXX 1 Low Standby Current XXXX QFN16 3x3 Noise Filter on SCL/SDA Inputs ALYW MN SUFFIX No Glitch on Powerup CASE 485G Internal Poweron Reset 16 64 Programmable Slave Addresses Using 3 Address Pins 1 XXXXXX 8 I/O Pins which Default to 8 Inputs 1 XXXXXX 2 QFN16 4x4 I C SCL Clock Frequencies Supported: ALYW MN SUFFIX Standard Mode: 100 kHz CASE 485AP Fast Mode: 400 kHz XXXX = Specific Device Code Fast Mode +: 1 MHz A = Assembly Location ESD Performance: 4000 V Human Body Model, M = Date Code / Assembly Location 400 V Machine Model WL, L = Wafer Lot Y = Year These Devices are PbFree, Halogen Free/BFR Free and are RoHS WW, W = Work Week Compliant G or = PbFree Package (Note: Microdot may be in either location) This document contains information on some products that are still under development.
