1. 2A05 is a low-power (LP) process node from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). Developed in 2019, this process technology has market-leading power efficiency compared to its peers. TSMC 2A05 technology is built on their 5-nanometer (nm) process, which uses poly-silicon and metal gate stacks, transistor strain engineering, Carrier Aggregation, and Early Bird Retention. It is used for the design and manufacture of System on Chip (SoC) products.
2. Thanks to the use of TSMC 2A05 technology, SoC products are power efficient and offer performance improvements in higher process nodes. This process node allows for a full band-widening deployment, in addition to higher clock speeds and improved leakage performance. Without an increase in power, SoC designs can boost the performance by up to 15%. The common applications include high performance CPUs, GPUs and AI Accelerators.
