PCA9515D NXP

The PCA9515D with IC, REPEATER, I2C BUS, 8SOIC is a level-shifter device manufactured by NXP. It enables bi-directional voltage-level shifting between an open-drain low-voltage bus and a high-voltage bus with full I2C compatibility. The PCA9515D is an ideal solution for high-side-driven I2C applications that can support from 3.3V to 5.5V operating voltage. The device has two operating modes: repeater and translator. In repeater mode a high-to-low voltage conversion is performed with a low-to-high voltage conversion not occurring. This mode prevents bus contention on the high-side line and allows for unique addressing solutions for connected devices. In translator mode which supports both high-to-low and low-to-high voltage conversion, the PCA9515D adds additional bus capacitance to the bus lines. This allows the PCA9515D to act as a bridge between the two high- and low-side voltage levels to enable the communication between different voltage domains. The PCA9515D comes in an 8SOIC package.
