The TIP31A is a high power complementary silicon NPN transistor manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It is designed for use in the general purpose amplifier and switching applications. The TIP31A features a collector current of 3A, a power dissipation of 33W, a maximum collector-emitter voltage of 60V, and an integrated built-in base-emitter shunt diode. It also features an hFE of 250 at 1A and a PC of 9.1W when mounted on a an Al baseplate. The device is housed in a through-hole TO-220 package and is RoHS-compliant.
